2014-2015 Report Card
The shift to a new assessment aligned to the new Indiana College and Career Ready Standards established a new baseline for our ISTEP+ assessment making previous years’ Student Performance, Student Growth and Accountability grades not comparable to the 2014-15 results.

The percentage of the 10th grade cohort that passed either
the End of Course Assessment (ECA) which is required for
graduation, or the Indiana Standards Tool for Alternate
Assessment (ISTAR) which is based on alternate academic
standards.
This bonus compares the 10th grade cohort passage rate to the passage
rate of those same students on the 8th grade ISTEP/ISTAR/IMAST exams
in each subject area. A school must meet or exceed the target number
to receive the bonus. A school may receive a penalty if they have
a negative result on this measure.
Based on the non-proficient students in the 10th grade cohort,
this bonus looks at the percentage of the non-proficient 10th
grade cohort that passes the ECA or ISTAR by the time the cohort
graduates. A school must meet or exceed the target number to receive
the bonus. There is no possible penalty on this measure.
The percentage of students in the cohort that graduate within four years,
including both waiver and non-waiver graduates.
The percentage of students that passed the Indiana Statewide Testing for
Educational Progress Plus (ISTEP+) or Indiana Modified Achievement Standards
Test (IMAST) for hte Indiana Standards Tool for Alternate Assessment (ISTAR)
which is based on alternate academic standards.
Bottom 25% subgroup is defined as the lowest 25% of students in each subject
area in each grade based on scale scores on the previous year's ISTEP+ performance.
The Indiana Growth Model determines that students with High Growth are those that
meet or exceed a projected target scale score on ISTEP+ that was set at the beginning
of the year which places them in the 66th percentile or better. To receive the bonus
a school must meet or exceed the target number of students achieving high growth.
Top 75% subgroup is defined as the top 75% of students in each subject area in
each grade based on scale scores on the previous year's ISTEP+ performance. The
Indiana Growth Model determines that students with High Growth are those that meet
or exceed a projected target scale score on ISTEP+ that was set at the beginning
of
the year which places them in the 66th percentile or better. To receive the bonus
a
school must meet or exceed the target number of students achieving high growth.
The overall group combines the Bottom 25% and Top 75% subgroups. The Indiana Growth
Model
determines that students with Low Growth are those that meet or fall below a projected
target
scale score on ISTEP+ that was set at the beginning of year which places them in
the 34th
percentile or lower. A school receives a penalty if this group meets or exceeds
the target
number of students demonstrating low growth.
This is the same subgroup defined under Growth.
This is the Top 75% subgroup defined under Growth combined with all IMAST and ISTAR
test takers.
